The Treeing Tennessee Brindle is a cur breed - both a hunting and treeing dog. This breed would chase their prey to the safety of a tree, bellow, and wait for the arrival of armed hunters. Reverend Earl Phillips developed this breed in 1960 and formed the Tree Breeders Association. Given its strong sense of smell, the Treeing Tennessee Brindle was able to locate and set after prey from great distances. This intelligent and fast breed has a distinctive bellow when identifying prey and yet another when treeing them. The Treeing Tennessee Brindle most likely was provided with a basic diet high in carbohydrates. This would have been nutritionally inadequate for those suffering from sensitive stomach ailments.

The phrase "barking up the wrong tree" stems from the treeing task at which the Treeing Tennessee Brindle are so adept. In 1995 the Foundation Stock Services recorded the Treeing Tennessee Brindle breed. Today, dog owners are lucky to have well-qualified veterinarians that can diagnose sensitive stomach issues and make recommendations for proper dog foods. In some instances, a pet's sensitive stomach might be caused by an absence of certain minerals, vitamins, nutrients, or perhaps fiber in their pet food. Sadly, industrial dog food brand names are not bound to reveal information about the quality or grade of ingredients on their dog food labels. Worried-- that's how most dog owners feel with a lot of dog food choices offered and while attempting to pick the right food for their dog with a sensitive stomach.
